The anniversary celebration started with an aperitivo inspired by Minnie Kemp's Mythical Forest Lounge, featuring the PIT-A-PAT table designed by Minnie Kemp as an honour of our 40 years journey. The colourful design of the table and floor beneath showcase the versatility of our new interchangeable magnetic solution, which can evolve over time with new designs swapped into the template. Guests enjoyed a warm welcome from Founder Torben Hansen and CEO Bernhard Heinloth, followed by an exclusive tour of our manufacturing headquarters.
The tour offered guests a first-hand look at the craftsmanship and dedication that defines Schotten & Hansen. Various stations along the way provided an immersive experience, allowing attendees to connect with the essence of our work up close to discover the artistry and precision behind our projects.
As the day transitioned into evening, we were delighted to host a memorable dinner against the backdrop of our new workshop, designed in collaboration with architect and long lasting compagnion Francisco Cortina. Themed "Tales & Toasts", the dinner embraced a maritime style designed by Interior Designer Ina Rinderknecht. The maritime atmosphere set the stage for friends of the house to share their most cherished memories and projects connected to Schotten & Hansen. Additionally, Ina celebrated Torben's passion for color harmonies based on the NCS system with 10 beautiful mood boards on colored oak veneer that beautifully lit up the room.
Inspirational speeches from Ina Rinderknecht, Paolo Mazza, and Francisco Cortina provided valuable insights into our projects and collaborations. Their words offered a deeper appreciation of the passion and innovation that have defined our journey over the past four decades.

Our Journey:
Founded in 1984 in Peiting, Bavaria by Danish carpenter Torben Hansen, Schotten & Hansen began as a small workshop restoring historic furniture. Over four decades, we’ve evolved into an internationally renowned provider of bespoke wooden flooring and surfaces, blending traditional craftsmanship, cutting-edge engineering, and sustainable materials.
Today, Torben Hansen continues to lead the company, joined by CEO Bernhard Heinloth and the next generation of Hansen family leadership: Maximilian Hansen and Ulrich Hansen — acting as Head of Product Management and UK Managing Director,
Since 2010, our dedicated yacht division has collaborated with world-class shipyards and designers on over 50 superyacht projects, offering innovative solutions for new builds, refits, and maintenance.
Breakthroughs in 2020 include our naturally coloured veneer collection, inspired by decades of research based on the NCS colour system — a unique method to transfer the vibrant colours of nature to wood.
