Modern yacht building places a wide range of demands on the materials to be used for interior fittings: they should be stable, light and at the same time resilient, and also have an attractive appearance. In numerous projects, our yacht team has already been able to prove that Schotten & Hansen is a reliable partner on the high seas, from the concept phase through product development and implementation to cleaning and maintenance of the wood products.
The wood selection and colour development of the products take place according to the existing concept in consultation with the designers and the shipyard. For the design planning, the yacht interior is digitally measured if necessary. Before the individually manufactured floors and furniture leave our factory, they are pre-assembled for viewing, quality control and acceptance. The logistics and installation on board take place in close consultation with the shipyard involved. To ensure that the wooden surfaces retain their radiance under maritime conditions, the respective crew is trained in maintenance care.
The Metstrade is organised by RAI Amsterdam together with the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA). It was held for the first time in 1988.
